About the Sustainable Tourism Project
The dedicated team at The Lovat is passionate about green issues, and we’re always looking for ways to boost our eco-friendly policies.
One way in which we do this is our involvement in the Sustainable Tourism Project, a series of workshops that are designed to help our management engage in ecological issues and combat their long-term environmental impact.

The European-funded Sustainable Tourism Project has been developed and delivered by Visit Scotland. The Project is to encourage tourism businesses to become more sustainable though a series of workshops run across the country from Peebles to Inverness and Glasgow to Fort William.
It is aimed at small to medium-sized businesses across all sectors, including bed and breakfasts, historic houses and visitor attractions. These events are designed to develop a greater understanding and awareness of sustainable tourism and its benefits, as well as promoting business growth through the encouragement of sustainable business practices.
These free workshop events provide an opportunity for tourism businesses to interact with experts and receive consultancy support from organisations including the Energy Savings Trust, Waste Aware Business, The Carbon Trust, Scottish Business in the Community and The Business Environment Partnership. The Lovat is honoured to have been included in the panel of experts as a sustainability champion, sharing experiences and providing valuable advice to attendees.
