The Lovat hotel's management team had its own Highland Games at The Achnagairn Castle, Kirkhill. We all arrived ready and motivated for an active morning. For some of us this was the first time to participate in Highland games, therefore even more exciting.

We were greeted by the instructor, dressed in kilt. He gave a very authentic touch to the Highland games. After parting us in two teams the fun could start.

Highland games

We started with theĀ  wellie whanging. As easy as it looks, we still had to find the strategy of throwing it to avoid it going in the wrong direction.

When we were warmed up by wellie whanging we moved to more serious and heavier activities - Chuckin' the Chicken and shot putt. This was the time when everyone had to show their strength.

Our active day also included sack races, tossing the caber and tug of war.

We kept the competitive spirit between the teams but always supported and cheered everyone when it was their turn to do the move. The atmosphere and the spirit during the Highland games showed how supportive as a team we are. And no surprise - we support and cheer up each other also during our shifts at work. We all enjoy the team spirit no matter what we do - at work or outside work.

When the Highland Games were over we headed inside to have a Management meeting and a workshop where we all got creative about the ways we can improve our productivity and services.
