Cancellation Policies

COVID-19 cancellation policy

Naturally we are all devastated by the situation so in light of the recent coronavirus outbreak and the massive impact on the travel industry, we are adapting our cancellation policy for non-refundable and non-cancellable reservations, offering you the ability to re-book within 24 months of your original arrival date.

We are appealing to guests and their good nature with a re-book option within 24 months.  We are all struggling during this time so if this re-book option isn’t possible for you then we will consider a refund less a £25.00 admin fee.  This refund would be issued on your original arrival date and is subject to management approval.

Normal Hotel cancellation policy

If you have to cancel your holiday for whatever reason, The Lovat will apply the following cancellation charges:

• Where deposits and full prepayments are involved, any cancellation, after the booking is made, the deposits and full prepayments will be retained
• When no deposit or prepayment has been taken, any cancellation made within 48 hours prior to arrival (12noon, 2 days prior), 100% of the full holiday price will be charged.

Where possible, we will look to move your date and if this is not possible then we will do our best to re-sell the room to avoid any or a limited cancellation fee.  If you have made the reservation over the internet or via a 3rd party, in most cases an administration fee will apply.  We strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance.

Restaurant cancellation policy

The Lovat Loch Ness is a family-run business and our restaurant relies upon bookings being honoured by our guests or sufficient notice being given of any required changes to reservations.  We therefore kindly request that diners give us notification if a cancellation or an amendment is required.

For all tables, we request cancellation or amendment wherever possible by 10:00am on the day.  For parties booked in our private room we require 1 weeks’ notice of cancellation or amendment and please see any of your specific terms and conditions.  We require your debit/credit card details for all reservations.  These will be held in a secure PCI-DSS compliant location on our reservation system.

A cancellation charge per person will be made if the cancellation terms above are not met – the rate will be indicated to you by our reservation system on confirmation email.  Sadly, our experience of parties failing to cancel, changing last minute or amend bookings dictates this precaution is now necessary.

We will contact you on the day, if not before to reconfirm your reservation. Unfortunately we are unable to hold unconfirmed reservations.
